Building a Search-Led Website for Smooth Dimensions
Smooth Dimensions approached BoutiqueSEO because the clinic needed a new website. Although the existing site looked attractive and worked well on mobile, it was not effectively supporting one of the clinic’s biggest growth opportunities.
Fiona, the clinic owner and lead injector, had recently invested in an Alma Harmony platform. This gave the clinic the technology to provide a wider range of laser, radio-frequency and IPL treatments, and Fiona wanted the new website to generate more enquiries for these services.

When we first reviewed the website, we identified a problem with the navigation that could be limiting the visibility and bookings of these treatments.
The menu primarily used the names of the Alma Harmony technologies and applicators. Although these names would be familiar to a clinic that owns the platform, most prospective patients would not know what they mean.

In this instance people are far more likely to search for a concern or the treatment they need than the name of a particular device.
For example, someone looking for help with acne may search for:
- Acne treatment
- Laser treatment for acne
- Acne laser treatment
They are much less likely to search for:
- Alma Harmony ClearSkin Pro
Before designing or building anything, we completed a full manual SEO audit. This took one week and allowed us to examine the existing website data, research how prospective patients were searching and test our initial assumptions.
We used Semrush alongside data from Google Search Console and Google Analytics to compare relevant keywords, assess search volumes and review the clinic’s existing organic visibility.
The keyword research confirmed the problem.

Semrush keyword research showed limited search demand for “ClearSkin Pro”.
Semrush showed approximately 10 UK searches per month for “ClearSkin Pro”. This confirmed that leading with the technology name in the main navigation would limit the website’s relevance to the much broader range of searches being made by prospective patients.
The opportunity was not simply to rank for the name of the technology. It was to create pages around the skin concerns and treatments people were actively searching for.
At BoutiqueSEO, every decision is informed by data. We don’t rely on guesswork.
The audit uncovered numerous opportunities to improve the search visibility of the Smooth Dimensions website. We brought these findings together to create a new website architecture, SEO strategy and comprehensive 301 redirect map.
Many web agencies can build a website that looks good. But without the right SEO foundations, there is no guarantee that it will perform well in search.
Creating the Content and Design
Once the new site architecture had been agreed, the content and design stages began.
Unlike many web agencies, BoutiqueSEO includes SEO-optimised website content within the cost of every website project.
Each page was thoroughly researched to identify the most relevant keywords and search intent. We also assessed local competitors, the treatments they ranked for and how their pages appeared in the search engine results.

This research informed the structure and content of every new page.
Our website content includes:
- On-page SEO
- A clear heading structure
- Search-friendly URL slugs
- Content structured for AI and large language model retrieval
- SEO titles and meta descriptions
- Relevant schema markup
- Internal linking between related pages
Alongside the content writing, we completed a design audit of the existing website, refreshed the Smooth Dimensions logo and created the new website designs.

The refreshed Smooth Dimensions branding and new website design.
Fiona already had an excellent library of high-quality, original clinic and treatment images. This helped us create a site that felt authentic to Smooth Dimensions without relying on generic stock photography.
She was also extremely quick to review and approve each stage of the project. Her clear feedback and prompt sign-offs helped the content and design process move efficiently and kept the project on schedule.
In total, the content and design stages took five weeks.
Improving the Online Booking Journey
Attracting more prospective patients to the website was only part of the project. We also reviewed what happened when someone decided to book.
The existing online booking journey created unnecessary friction. Treatment names and categories were not always aligned with the language used on the website or the terms prospective patients would recognise. This could make it harder for someone to identify and book the correct appointment.

We provided recommendations for reorganising and renaming the treatments within the booking system so that the journey from the website to the appointment calendar felt clearer and more consistent.
This was an important part of the website strategy. Increasing search visibility is only valuable if the people arriving on the website can quickly understand what to book and complete the process without unnecessary confusion.
From Approval to Launch
Once Fiona had approved the new designs and website content, the project moved into development.
Three weeks later, the new Smooth Dimensions website was launched.
Google will now need time to crawl, index and assess the new website. We will continue monitoring its visibility and performance and will update this case study as the site settles and meaningful search data becomes available.
Website Testimonial
At the end of the project we were delighted with the review that Fiona left which explained how she felt about the project:

“I can’t recommend Jane at Boutique SEO enough. She recently created my new website for Smooth Dimensions Essex and I’m so pleased with how it’s turned out.
Jane took the time to understand my business and what I wanted from the website. She was really patient, listened to all my ideas and made sure everything felt right for me and my brand.
The website looks professional, modern and is exactly what I was hoping for. Jane has been lovely to work with from start to finish and has always been happy to help whenever I’ve had a question.
Thank you so much, Jane, for all your hard work. I’m really happy with my new website and would definitely recommend Boutique SEO. I am looking forward to continuing working with Jane as she is going to manage my SEO.”

Project milestones
We are now just under 2 weeks post launch. I would normally expect the results from a migration to take anywhere between 4 – 12 weeks and I suspect it will take longer for us to see the full results.
However, checking the keyword stats on Semrush today actually blew my mind!
There are now:
- 31 new keywords in the top 3
- 62 new keywords in the top 10
- 65 new keywords in the top 20
- 72 new keywords in the top 100
These keywords well may fluctuate from here on in, but this is a very good sign so soon after launch.
